1. About Koddomo and this policy

Koddomo is a family financial-education app that helps parents and children (ages 8–12) learn about money using the collectibles kids already love. Koddomo is operated by Dizcharge Productions and Marketing LLC (“Koddomo,” “we,” “us”).

This policy explains what information we collect from parents and children, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights parents have. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — families should be able to understand exactly what happens with their data.

2. Who this policy covers

Parents / guardians create and control the account. They provide their own contact details and set up their children's profiles.

Children use the app only through a profile a parent created, and only after the parent has given consent. Children do not create their own accounts and cannot sign in independently.

3. Information we collect

From parents

About children (provided by the parent, or entered by the child in their profile)

Collected automatically

We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, contacts, biometric identifiers, or a child's last name; and we do not show behavioral advertising to children.

4. How we use information

We never sell your family's data. We never show children ads. We do not use children's information for marketing.

5. Parental consent (COPPA)

Koddomo is built for children, so before a child's profile is created or used, we ask the parent or guardian to confirm they are an adult and to consent to the collection and use of the information described here. The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires this for children under 13.

How we obtain consent: consent is collected inside the app before a child's profile is created or used. The parent confirms they are 18 or older, confirms they are the child's parent or legal guardian, and agrees to this notice. We record the consent with the date, the parent's account, the policy version, and the method used.

Verifiable consent (at launch): before public release we intend to add an additional email-based confirmation step so that consent is verifiable. Because a child's information is not made public and is not shared with third parties for their own use, an email-based method is intended to be appropriate for Koddomo's low-risk use.

Withdrawing consent: a parent can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the child's profile in the Parents area or by contacting us. When consent is withdrawn we stop collecting new information for that child and delete their existing information as described below.

6. Parents' rights and choices

As a parent or guardian, you can at any time:

To make any of these requests directly, contact us at hello@koddomo.com.

7. How we share information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share children's information with third parties for their own marketing.

We share information only with service providers who help us run Koddomo (for example, cloud hosting and database providers), and only as needed to operate the app. These providers are required to protect the information and use it only for our purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a child or another person.

8. The Community and Marketplace (adults only)

The Community forum and any parent-to-parent listings are for adults only and are never shown to children. Koddomo does not process payments and takes no commission; any arrangement between parents happens off the platform. Parents are asked never to post photos of children and to report anything inappropriate; our team reviews reports and can remove content.

9. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect family information, including access controls on our database and encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect information consistent with its sensitivity.

10. How long we keep information

We keep a family's information while the account is active and for as long as needed to provide the app. When a parent deletes a child's profile or the family account, we delete the associated information, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the policy version and effective date and notify parents through the app or by email. Continued use after an update means the updated policy applies.
